Items sold by Tafika Arts are handcrafted in the Victoria Falls region of Zimbabwe or are sourced locally, throughout Zambia.
Once a thriving tourist hub, Zimbabwean artisans and vendors made their living selling handmade goods from the multitude of marketplaces that surrounded the Falls. Due to the country’s shifting political climate, tourism has drastically declined and business for most vendors has decreased substantially; many find themselves traveling outside the country to sell their works.
Several of our family members are artists and vendors and it has long been our dream to bring their works to our own community and to share their beauty and rich history. It is our hope that doing so will not only help, in its own small way, to preserve this culture but that it will also provide the broader market necessary to generate revenue to sustain the artists and their craft.
In the Shona language, the word 'Tafika'
translates to 'We Have Arrived'
is the arrival of our family’s craft abroad
and the realization of our shared dream.
We hope you love their work as much as we do.
