Items sold by Tafika Arts are handcrafted in the Victoria Falls region of Zimbabwe or are sourced throughout Zambia.

Known locally as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ (“The Smoke Which Thunders”), The Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and attracts visitors from around the globe. Once a thriving tourist hub, Zimbabwean artisans and vendors made their living selling handmade goods from the multitude of marketplaces that surround the Falls.

Due to the country’s shifting political climate, tourism has drastically declined and business for most vendors has decreased substantially; many find themselves traveling outside the country to sell their works.

Several of our family members are artists and vendors and it has long been our dream to bring their works to our own community and to share their beauty and rich history. It is our hope that doing so will not only help, in its own small way, to preserve this culture but that it will also provide the broader market necessary to generate revenue to sustain the artists and their craft.

In the Nyanja language, the word 'Tafika

translates to 'We Have Arrived'

Tafika Arts

is the arrival of our family’s craft abroad

and the realization of our shared dream.

We hope you love their work as much as we do.
