Tonga Baskets, named after the people of the Tonga Tribe, are woven by local women of twigs, reeds, and wild grasses. Darker colors used to create patterns are achieved by dying the materials naturally using roots and barks of native trees. These baskets have a distinctive design with a flat square base.
